You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To is the third studio album by American hardcore punk band Knocked Loose. It was released through Pure Noise Records on May 10, 2024, and produced by Drew Fulk.[1] It is the first album to feature rhythm guitarist Nicko Calderon after joining in 2020.
Writing[edit]
The title of the album originates from a conversation vocalist Bryan Garris had with a woman sitting next to him on a flight.
“She just asked where I was going. I told her that I was headed home to Louisville. And it started a conversation that distracted and calmed me over the course of the entire flight. I didn’t even realise that she had managed to do that until we were back on solid ground. But there was one moment in that exchange that she dropped so nonchalantly, which hit me so hard. She said that she didn’t fly often. I told her that I had to fly all the time, but I hated it. She asked if I was afraid. I said I was. Then she just looked at me and shrugged, ‘You won’t go before you’re supposed to…’”[1]
Artwork[edit]
The artwork for the album was done by frequent collaborator and photographer Ridge Rhine. The band originally chose an existing image Rhine had taken, but chose to recreate it on realizing that the image was released and numerous people owned prints.[2]
