Notability[edit]

The notability criteria state:

  1. The person has received a well-known and significant award or honor, or has been nominated for such an award several times; or
  2. The person has made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in a specific field

It looks to me as if Arianna Gleason qualifies on two counts:

  1. She has received several awards
  2. Her research on mineral physics has demonstrated that molten rock in the Earth's core is denser than solid rock, potentially contributing to the creation of magnetic fields. She was the lead author on a study that discovered a new kind of ice, named ice VII

The above items also appear to meet the first two criteria for academic notability.
