Eugene Joseph Wolfgramm (September 24, 1966 – April 15, 2024), also known as Gene Hunt, was an American singer and musician who was a founding member of the Minneapolis-based group The Jets.
Biography[edit]
Wolfgramm was one of seventeen siblings in the Wolfgramm family, eight of whom were originally in The Jets.[1] Like the other Wolfgramms, Eugene was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Career[edit]
Wolfgramm was featured on the first two Jets albums (1985's The Jets and 1986's Christmas with The Jets) and was featured in the single and music video to 1987's "Cross My Broken Heart" from the Beverly Hills Cop II soundtrack. He left the group in 1987 to form the duo Boys Club, with Joe Pasquale.
In 1989, Boys Club had a big hit with "I Remember Holding You", which peaked at number 8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Their follow-up single, "The Loneliest Heart", peaked at number 39 on the US Adult Contemporary chart.
In 1990, Wolfgramm reunited with his siblings to record four new tracks featured on The Best of The Jets (1990) and was featured on the album cover and inside sleeve. Wolfgramm (under the alias Gene Hunt) also shared co-writing credit on The Jets' song "Do You Remember," featured on the album Believe (1989).
Wolfgramm died from heart complications on April 15, 2024, at the age of 57.[2][3]
