Panel from an alter dedicated to the divine couple of Mars and Venus. Marble, Roman artwork of the end of the reign of Trajan (98-117 CE), later re-used under the Hadrianic era (117-132 CE) as a base for a statue of Silvan. From the portico of the Piazzale dei Corporazioni in Ostia Antica. Shown in museum of Palazzo Massimo alle Terme (Rome).

  • Italiano: Retro del cosiddetto "Altare di Marte e Venere", ara romana di epoca traianea, riutilizzata in epoca adrianea (nel 124 d.C.) come base per una statua del dio Silvano. Il rilievo mostra Romolo e Remo con la lupa capitolina. Proviene da un sacello del Piazzale delle Corporazioni, ad Ostia Antica, ed è oggi esibito nel Museo di Palazzo Massimo alle Terme a Roma.
