English: The former Long Island Rail Road Substation Number 5 at the top of Hammels Wye as seen from the western leg of the wye along the IND Rockaway Line in the Hammels section of the Rockaways in Queens, New York City. The substation used to serve the Rockaway Beach Branch of the Long Island Railroad as well as a former segment of the Far Rockaway Branch. Today, this facility is owned by the New York City Subway division of the New York City Transit Authority. |
