Description
English: The northwest corner of 20th and Q Streets, N.W., in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C., following the Second North American blizzard of 2010.

The headquarters for Public Citizen, a left-wing advocacy group founded by Ralph Nader, is the building on the corner, 1600 20th Street, N.W. Built in 1885 as the residence of George Alexander McIlhenny, president of the Washington Gas-Light Company, the brick, four-story, Richardsonian Romanesque building previously served as headquarters for the Army and Navy Bulletin, predecessor to the Navy Times, the American Home Economics Association, now known as the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences, and the Institute for Policy Studies. The building is a contributing property to the Dupont Circle Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, and has a 2010 property value of $5,050,400.
