About Us[edit]

GD Goenka University is a private university[1] located in Sohna, Gurugram, Haryana, India. It was established in 2013 by the GD Goenka Group[2] through the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Act, 2013. The GD Goenka Group was founded by Shri A.K. Goenka. GD Goenka University is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC).

GD Goenka University has collaborations with top-tier universities and institutions across the globe, providing students with pathways to advanced study and careers. It offers courses in a wide range of areas, including Agricultural Sciences, Engineering & Sciences, Hospitality & Tourism, Liberal Arts, Law, Management, Medical & Allied Sciences, and Unitedworld Institute of Design. Additionally, GD Goenka University has Centers of Excellence in Vocational Studies, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Occupational Health, Safety, Fire & Environment.

The university is a forerunner in implementing best practices of the National Education Policy (India)|NEP 2020. It operates eight schools and hosts a diverse body of over 6000 students and 11000 alumni from over 45 countries. GD Goenka University is recognized by UGC and the Bar Council of India (BCI), and is a member of prestigious national and international organizations including the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), and International Association of Universities (IAU). It is recognized by QS I-GAUGE as a "Diamond" and "Gold" rated university for teaching and learning.

The School of Agricultural Sciences at GD Goenka University has proudly received accreditation from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

The university is located on a 60-acre sustainable campus and features state-of-the-art facilities, including smart classrooms, research and design labs, experience centers, and sports facilities of international scale, such as a shooting range, a half-Olympic size swimming pool, and world-class air-conditioned hostels.

Ms. Radhika Goenka[edit]

Dr. Amrita Behl[edit]

Dr. Amrita Behl, Chief Education Officer of GD Goenka Group, brings with her two decades of experience as an Education Policy, Reform, and Governance Leader. She has been instrumental in transitioning schools to the Bhutan Baccalaureate Learning Process of Druk Gyalpo’s Institute, His Majesty’s Secretariat, Bhutan. Dr. Behl has designed programs and spearheaded the implementation of Climate Change outreach initiatives for schools. As an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Lt Governor, Government of Puducherry, she led Public Outreach and Communication Strategy. Her extensive background includes collaboration with prominent organizations such as the World Health Organization and the United Nations. GD Goenka University is now on the private university list of CUET 2023.[4]

Student life[edit]

As part of the teaching practices, students are encouraged to document and present their work to experts. All the schools regularly conduct conferences and seminars where speakers, practicing managers and faculty researchers participate. Some of the events are REDSET, ELIXIR, ICON, ICAP, Media[5] clave, Agora, Code, Ihost, Mootcourt, Speed, ERA, and Udyami Bazaar.

The university organizes several events and other extra-curricular activities. Acceleron, Sportopia, Reva, Transcend, Research Conclave are some of the available activities.
