How to add margins in infoboxes[edit]

I have searched all over to find a solution to this problem. I want to add horizontal margins in an infobox. Meaning, a line after a header or sub-header or any other section in infobox. I did not find any way to do this. Could someone please instruct me how to do it. Or if I've missed out any help article on this topic then please do provide me the link. WikInfoboxer: A tool to help users create infoboxes[edit]

The current creation of Wikipedia infoboxes is based on templates that are created and maintained collaboratively. While templates provide a standardized way of representing infobox information across Wikipedia articles, they pose several challenges. Different communities use different infobox templates for the same category articles; a template designed for a specific category of articles is used for other different categories and its attributes are miss-understood; attribute names differ (e.g., date of birth vs. birthdate), and attribute values are expressed using a wide variety of measurements and units. Finally, templates are free form in nature; when users fill attribute values no integrity check is performed on whether value is of appropriate type for the given attribute, often leading to erroneous infoboxes.

Guiding contributors in the creation of infoboxes would mean creating richer and more correct information. We are working on the Infoboxer system, which is a tool grounded in Semantic Web technologies that overcomes challenges in creating and updating infoboxes, along the way making the process easier for users. We have developed a simple research prototype of Infoboxer to test our ideas (http://sid01.cps.unizar.es/). However, as a research prototype, it is not ready to be used by Wikipedia editors yet. Therefore, we are applying for a Wikimedia Individual Engagement Grant which would enable us to transform a simple research prototype in a useful tool ready to be used for editors to create infoboxes for Wikipedia pages.

Please give us your advice in the discussion board of the proposal: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants_talk:IEG/WikInfoboxer

How is peer review done?[edit]

"Once the infobox prototype has been tested, it is ready for peer review and deployment."

I made a change to an infobox in my sandbox, User:Geo8rge/Infobox test1. How do I peer review it? Geo8rge (talk) 00:22, 5 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This doesn't seem to work...[edit]

Infoboxes can be readily prototyped within the designing editor's own user space. To start a new page in your namespace, enter "Special:Mypage/" followed by the page name you wish to create into the search box

Results of doing this:

You have requested a special page that is not recognized by Wikipedia. A list of all recognized special pages may be found at Special:SpecialPages.

Tried editing the URL directly as well, same result Maury Markowitz (talk) 11:56, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Try Special:Mypage/Sandbox — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:07, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That took me to my sandbox, as expected? Maury Markowitz (talk) 12:22, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ahhh, I see you have to use "Mypage" and not your actual name. That is strange and totally unexpected, given the following example I though this was a placeholder for "put your name here". Ahh the wiki... Maury Markowitz (talk) 12:24, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, so I did all that, I think, and I still have a non-functioning template: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Maury_Markowitz/Infobox_mainframe_computer Maury Markowitz (talk) 13:53, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Same here, not getting this to work. I utilized the text "Special:Mypage/Infobox law enforcement operations" inside curly brackets. All I get is a link that shows up in blue with the same text, but no info box. Populating the values for the infobox has no effect.eximo (talk) 20:22, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Either this isn't working, or the description for how to implement it needs to be updated for the cohort of people that are struggling with the existing instructions for testing.

Problem with my infobox[edit]

May Jesus Christus will be blessing! I created a new infobox for Cashubian Wikipedia. Unfortunately, during the tests in my user page I looked, that all cathegories from infobox was visible (this cathegories, which I unchecked, too). Why is this happening and how can I remedy it? Thank you in advance for all your help, I greet and wish you a lot of God's blessing. 5.173.200.237 (talk) 12:37, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
