Jacob Richard Knapp (born May 31, 1994) is an American professional golfer.

Early life[edit]

Knapp was born on May 31, 1994, in Costa Mesa, California to Jennifer and Robert Knapp.[2] His older brother, Ryan, was a golfer at Orange Coast College and the University of California, Irvine.[3] He played for Estancia High School.[4] He qualified for the 2015 U.S. Open as an amateur.[3]

Professional career[edit]

Knapp turned professional in 2016. He played on the PGA Tour Canada from 2016 to 2019 and again in 2022, winning three times. He played on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2020, 2021, and 2023. He earned his 2024 PGA Tour card by finishing 13th on the Korn Ferry Tour points list in 2023.[5]

In February 2024, Knapp won the Mexican Open for his first PGA Tour victory. Knapp hit just two fairways in the final round, becoming the first PGA Tour player since 1983 to hit two or fewer fairways in his final round and win.[6][7]
