Jeremiah Smith is an American football wide receiver for the Ohio State Buckeyes.[1] He attended Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory school in Florida, and currently attends the Ohio State University. Smith is known for being one of the most highly touted wide receiver prospects to come out of the state of Florida, and is the #1 overall high school football recruit of the 2024 graduating class.[2]

Early life and high school[edit]

Smith lives in Hollywood, Florida and attended Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School.[3] He had 31 receptions for 667 yards and seven touchdowns in his sophomore season.[4][5] Smith caught 58 passes for 1,073 yards and 20 touchdowns as a junior.[6] He also won the FHSAA Class 2A state championship in the 110 and the 400-meter hurdles during his junior year.[7] During his senior season, Smith was named All-American, and won the All-American Bowl Player of the Year Award.[8]

Smith is rated a five-star recruit.[9][10] He is currently ranked as the second-best collegiate prospect in the nation by 247Sports.com, On3.com, and Rivals.com.[11] Smith committed to play college football at Ohio State over offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, and USC.[12][13]

Smith is the cousin of NFL quarterback Geno Smith.[14]
