Jiwaji Club

Jiwaji Club (जीवाजी क्लब ग्वालियर, Jiwaji Club) is a recreational club, started by the ruler of Gwalior State H. H. Srimant Jiwaji Rao Scindia who ruled the Gwalior state in the year 1936.

History[edit]

During the period of Late. H. H. Madhav Rao Scindia, one of the renowned rulers in India, this club was established by the then British Regent on the 4th July 1898 with the name Elgin Club.

Later, H. H. Jiwaji Rao Scindia became the full-time Ruler of Gwalior State from 1936 and gave this club its present name Jiwaji Club which is listed under the list of gentlemen's clubs in India and holds regular elections for the positions of president and secretary. Sangram Kadam was elected as its President, while Tarun Goyal as its secretary.[1]
