Lieutenant General Kavita Sahai, SM, VSM is a serving General Officer in the Indian Army. She is the eighth woman in the Indian Armed Forces to be promoted to a Three-star rank, and the fourth to hold the rank of Lieutenant General. She currently serves as the Commandant Army Medical Corps Centre and College, Lucknow.

Career[edit]

Sahai was commissioned in the Army Medical Corps in December 1986 after graduating from Armed Forces Medical College.[1][2][3] In 1994, she did her Doctor of Medicine in pathology and Diplomate of National Board in Pathology in 1997.[4][5]

Sahai is a fellow of Oncopathology from All India Institutes of Medical Sciences, Delhi and has a diploma in Health professionals education FAIMER Keele University, United Kingdom. She was Professor and Head Department of Pathology in Base Hospital Delhi, Armed Forces Medical College and Army Hospital Research and Referral.[6]
