Local Public Education Services

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Local Public Education Services (Spanish: Servicios Locales de Educación Pública or SLEP for its acronym) are local public education providers to be created according to a 2018 law passed during the second government of Michelle Bachelet.[1][2] The law provides for the gradual establishment of local public education services through Chile, establishing between one and sixteen in each of Chile's regions.[1] The law ends the role of municipal governments as public education providers.[1]

As of December 20, 2023, 17 out of 70 planned Local Public Education Services are operative.[2][1]
