Md Mizanur Rahman Mizan (Bengali: মোঃ মিজানুর রহমান মিজান) psc, G is a Colonel of the Bangladesh Army. He is currently in Sena Kalyan Sangstha

Early life and education[edit]

Mizan was born in 1978 into a Muslim family of the village of Mohammadpur in Renga Hajiganj thana of Dakshin Surma Upazila, Sylhet District (now in Sylhet Division). He studied primary level at Mohammadpur A. Gafur Primary School, later he admitted himself to Sylhet Cadet College in the year 1991. He has completed Secondary and Higher Secondary Examinations from Sylhet Cadet College, BSc (PASS) from National University, MSc in Applied Gunnery, and MSc in Military Studies from Bangladesh University of Professionals. He served as Adjutant and Instructor Class-B at Rajshahi Cadet College (April 2011 to January 2013).

Career[edit]

Mizan joined the Bangladesh Military Academy as a cadet on 30 December 1997 and completed his training, and he was commissioned on 2 December 1999 with the 41st BMA Long Course in 1st Field Artillery Regiment, Later on, he served in the elite police unit, the Rapid Action Battalion from 2005-2006, and the Para Commando Brigade, Rajshahi Cadet College As Lieutenant Colonel, he served as General Staff Officer First Grade at the ARTDOC, Headquarters, He commanded two field artillery regiments in Khagrachhari under 24th Infantry Division[1] and Mymensingh and also been Principal of Rajendrapur Cantonment Public School and College[2]While performing responsibility as the Zone Commander of Lakhsmicharri, he united and mobilized the local people to spread education in the area and established Bainnachola-Manikpur High School[3][1] At the same time, he started over Lakhsmicharri College,[4] established when he was a zone adjutant and was closed later, and assured its nationalization. He reopened the closed Mayurkhali Satantra Ibtedia Madrasa and officially registered it. He is a graduate of the United States Army Airborne and Pathfinder School and an officer who completed the Mid-Level Command Course from the Chinese PLA Command College.

Personal Life[edit]

He is happily married to Tohfa Siddique, and has two children.
