Mihail Popovici

Mihail Popovici (born 29 October 1942) is a Moldovan specialist in cardiology who was selected as a member of Academy of Sciences of Moldova.

He earned an M.D. (1865) and Ph.D (1970) from Nicolae Testemițanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy. He later was awarded a Doctor of Science degree from National Medical Research Center of Cardiology, Moscow.[1]

He was the founding director of Moldavian Institute of Cardiology, Chisinau, from 1984 to 2014, and then became the Deputy Director of Science at the institute. [2][1][3]

He was awarded the Order of the Republic (Moldova), Moldova's highest award, in 2002.[1]
