The mapper Template:Location map China was re-created by Ukrainian User:Амба on 15 July 2010 to set coordinates for x/y locations on a political map and terrain map of China, which have curved lines of latitude & longitude. The older China map-definition template, for using squared coordinates, is Template:Location map China (equirectangular). -Wikid77 (talk) 08:55, 16 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Testing coordinates x/y[edit]

The following are some test cases to ensure that the x/y for latitude and longitude are still calculated correctly, after any future updates to the template or China maps. The precisions are excessive for small map images, but might apply if maps were vastly enlarged, such as for GPS tracking.

Those are some examples, showing high precision. The values of x/y are used by {{Location_map}}, or {{Location_map_many}}, to place marker-images on the map of China.
