In July 2022, construction began on the school's campus.[3] In 2023, the school received pre-accreditation by the American Osteopathic Association's Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA).[2] Graduates of the college receive a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree (D.O.).

Campus[edit]

OCOM is located on a 25-acre campus.[4] The main building consists of 3 floors and 144,000 square feet.[5] The campus was purchased and built at a cost of $200 million.[4] The campus building was designed by Baker Barrios Architects.[6] The campus also houses a non-profit organization, the Dr. Kiran C. Patel Institute for Graduate Medical Education.[6]

Like many other medical schools in the United States, OCOM students will take basic science classes in the first two years of medical school, and clinical clerkships during their third and fourth years. The inaugural class will consist of 97 students.[4]
