• 1854 – Birth of the poet Pedro Bonifacio Palacios, better known by his pseudonym, Almafuerte.
• 1922 – Birth of the writer Marco Denevi, one of the most important writers of Argentine contemporary literature; his first novel, Rosaura a las diez, was recorded in a well-known film.
• 1934 – Death of the naturalist Ángel Gallardo, discoverer of the cariocinetic division. He was the director of the National Museum of Sciences Bernardino Rivadavia.
