Portal:English football/Instructions

The English football Portal was created via instructions in creating a box portal. Clicking the edit button on the main English football Portal page does not help at all to add to the various sections as is usually the case with creation of Wikipedia articles. However, clicking on the edit button does show all the pages transcluded into the main Portal page.

This page gives basic instructions and further reading links for adding new content to the portal. For more in-depth information into how the Portal was created, how the various templates work, what the layout wikimarkup does and how to make new pages or boxes see the instructions for advanced users.

I want to add to or edit one of the boxes or nominate content for inclusion

To add or edit the content of one of the boxes, or to nominate an article or image for inclusion, please navigate to the page that covers your topic below and follow the instructions on that page.

I want to add or edit a Did You Know? entry

The Did You Know (DYK) entries are archived at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Did you know and are added to English football DYKs. These entries are copies of the actual tag-line used when these articles appeared in the DYK section of Wikipedia's Main Page. To submit a new entry for DYK on Wikipedia's Main Page, you can list it on Did you know suggestions. Please note however that there is a very strict criteria for selection of these and not all submissions can be accepted.

I want to help maintain the Portal

Feel free to do so. Be bold and change the format if you wish, help revert vandalism or add/nominate content following the above guidelines. More advanced users who wish to know the inner workings of this portal can read the advanced instructions.
