Chandipur [edit]

Chandipur beach of the coast of Orissa during high-tide. A feature of the beach is that during the ebb, the water recedes anywhere from one to four km.

The image shows one of the beaches of eastern India and an interesting fact is tied to it. Chandipur is also the location of one of our most important military installations but unfortunately the article is a stub. I hope interest in the beach will also translate into interest the article and maybe into the state of Orissa. Further, as an aside, although I love the current images on India:Portal, I am tired of looking at the same ones day in and day out. :) ; The picture appears in the Chandipur article and was created by me.
