Pakistan geologically overlaps both with the Indian and the Eurasian landplates. The provinces of Sindh and Punjab are found in the northwestern corner of the Indian tectonic plate; Balochistan and most of the North-West Frontier Province exist on the Eurasian Plate tectonic plate; the Iranian plateau is part of both the Middle East and Central Asia. The Northern Areas and Azad Kashmir also lie mainly in Central Asia along the edge of the Indian plate. Photo credit: Sadalmelik
