Joseph A. Walker

Joe Walker was a test pilot and an astronaut for the United States Air Force. In 1963, Walker made two X-15 flights beyond 100 kilometers - the Kármán line marking the edge of space. These were the only spaceplane flights past that threshold until the flights of SpaceShipOne in 2004. (more...)
