The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) spacecraft is a joint project of the ESA and NASA. It began its study of the Sun in May 1996 and currently continues to operate after over ten years in space. SOHO is one of three spacecraft in the vicinity of the Sun-Earth L1 point, and is the main source of near-real time solar data used for space weather prediction. (more...)
