- 2013 - Guang Da Xing No. 28 incident: The Philippine Coast Guard fires 59 bullets at a Taiwanese fishing vessel, the Guang Da Xing No. 28, killing the ship's captain, Hong Shi-Cheng. The resulting incident led to worsening of relations between Taiwan and the Philippines including Taiwan conducting navy drills in the area and sanctions against the Philippines. Relations normalized after the Philippines complies with Taiwan's demands.
