I think these are all good. Winston Churchill was born in Oxfordshire, which is probably an even better claim to fame for the South East. We probably need to be careful with "lived at" - we need to make sure they were resident there for a long enough time to say that they are "of" the South East.

In general I'm happy with all of your nominated articles, biographies and pictures; it may save us time if we start a list of approved users, who don't need to have their nominations approved but can just add them in. Either that, or adopt an approach of assume it's approved unless it's discussed on the portal talk page. While it's important to ensure there's consensus, we don't want to make the process overly bureaucratic. Waggers 13:49, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see this page as a repository for nominations from the general public and as a scratchpad for advanced editors. Adding them to the proper list is a bit involved, so I just made a note of the names here, to be completed later (You approved these on the previous page). Some names already in place may encourage others.
With a bit of experience, I now feel there is no need for any approval process. Confident editors can add them directly, whereas the less confident can leave the names here. An approved editor list is not necessary, the pages will be watched. MortimerCat 17:36, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
