Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo (born 5 October 1945) is the Grand Chancellor, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Internal Affairs of Sovereign Military Order of Malta. He has held the chair of International Economics at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Naples for 35 years.
Riccardo was born in Naples on 5 October 1945. He graduated in law at the University of Naples Federico II.
From 1983 till 1994, he was an economic advisor to several Ministers in Industry and Defence of the Italian Republic as well as to the Prime Minister's office. In 1979, he joined the Order of Malta and was the head of the Association of Italian Knights from June 2016 till April 2023. As President, he also served as head of the Military Corps.
He has served as Grand Chancellor of Malta since 3 September 2022.[1]
