Science Bee (Bengali: সায়েন্স বী) is an online educational platform in Bangladesh founded in 2018 by education entrepreneur S M Mobin Sikder.[1][2][3][4]
History[edit]
In 2018, a student from Jahangirnagar University named S. M. Mobin Sikder founded Science Bee with the idea of disseminating science education in Bengali for free throughout the country via Internet.[5][6] In the beginning, they did not have a website and used social media Facebook to publish informative infographics and news for students. In 2019 activities started through the website[7] that used to publish various science topics and news in Bengali, then accelerated with the help of social media.[8] Next came the Q&A site where there is an opportunity to earn points besides the service of asking questions and getting answers. Finally, e-book services were added.[9]
Activities[edit]
Activities that Science Bee conducts:
- Creating various videos on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Space & Astronomy, Biology and Technology.
- Conducting 'Science Live' programme with scientists, researchers, doctors and technicians of Bangladesh.
- Writing blogs containing various educational information.
- Publish science-based news and e-books.[2][10]
- Enhancing interests in learning and knowing through questions and answers.[11]
- Organizing Science workshops in schools and colleges.[12]

Science Bee has won numerous awards and honours for spreading science among students in Bangladesh. Science Bee has received the following awards:
