Sex & Fury ("Story of Delinquent Female Boss: o-Chō Inoshika" (不良姐御伝 猪の鹿お蝶, Furyō anego den: Inoshika o-Chō)) is a 1973 Japanese erotic thriller film directed by Norifumi Suzuki and starring Reiko Ike.[1]

It was followed by Female Yakuza Tale: Inquisition and Torture in the same year where Reiko Ike reprises her role as Kyoko Kasai / Inoshika Ocho.

Plot[edit]

The film opens in 1886 during the Meiji era with Kyoko, a young girl, and her father walking along a covered pathway. The girl chases after a ball and while the two are apart her father, a police detective, is murdered by 3 men. The girl runs back to him as he dies holding onto three blood-soaked gaming animal cards in his hand with drawings of an ino (boar), shika (deer), and ocho (butterfly), which are potential clues regarding his 3 killers.

After the opening credits, the story resumes in the year 1905 where we meet a young woman, played by Reiko Ike. Her formal name is Kyoko Kasai but she has adopted the name Inoshika Ochō - a name taken from the 3 cards held by her father as he died. She makes her living as a petty criminal, a pickpocket, and a gambler. She has also learned serious skills in the martial arts, sword fighting, pistols, and other areas.

After hiding a fleeing anarchist who attempted to kill the new president of one of the powerful Yakuza who are trying to control Japan, she becomes involved in international intrigue while searching for the sister of a man she saw murdered in a gambling den, as well as hunting down the gangsters responsible for murdering her father. Entering the story is a British agent and his latest recruit Christina, played by Christina Lindberg, who are hoping to turn Japan into the stage for a second opium war, making Ochō's attempt at revenge more difficult.

Production[edit]

According to Christina Lindberg, while on a plane to Stockholm, she was approached by two Japanese men who asked her if she would be interested in working in Japan. Her reply was "why not" and soon afterwards she was in Japan working for Toei. She spent two and a half months in Japan, appearing in Sex and Fury and later in a larger role in Sadao Nakajima's 1973 film, Porno Queen: Japan Sex Tour.[2]
