The women's 200 metre breaststroke competition of the swimming events at the 1983 Pan American Games took place on 18 August.[1] The last Pan American Games champion was Anne Gagnon of Canada.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

This race consisted of four lengths of the pool, all in breaststroke.[8]
