Merger[edit]

There is already an article on this etching, which is why the correct name for the work is already being used. Some kind of merger of the articles is probably in order. Mccapra (talk) 06:49, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

We have two articles in the same subject. Although this one is newer and the title is wrong, it contains a more detailed treatment of the topic. I therefore think we should merge histories, merge the articles and assign the correct title to this one. Mccapra (talk) 07:02, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the new article is more detailed, but some of the topics covered relate to the artist's life in general rather than this particular art work, and might thus be better suited to incorporation into the (relatively short) article about Los caprichos as a series.--Thoughtfortheday (talk) 12:31, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge selectively from the newer article into the existing one. I agree with Thoughtfortheday that much in the newer article belongs in the Los caprichos article, and should be merged there. Once the merge is complete, the newer article, since it is an implausible typo, should be deleted, except perhaps for attribution purposes. Not sure if you can histmerge into two different articles.Onel5969 TT me 13:55, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Boldly merged: notwithstanding this merge discussion, I have redirected this article to the one it was copied from. The title is invalid, it was created simply by copying the content of the previous article to create this one, and it was never reviewed as a new article. Feel free to revert if that is premature, but we all know an article under this title isn't going to be here when the dust settles. Even as a redirect, the title might be considered for deletion. Additional edits since the original cut'n'paste creation may need to be merged, I'll leave that for someone else to decide. If anybody wanted to have the article under this title (can't imagine why) then it should be renamed properly and we can go from there. Lithopsian (talk) 20:10, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
