There is no source for this assertion?! Such a fatal accusation without any source or evidence (and without any further explanation within the main-text) has nothing to do with a serious encyclopaedia. "fire-altar" is hyperlinked here to the generci altar page, but that page doesn't seem to explain what a fire-altar is, nor how it relates to the Indo-Aryan people that Burnouf was talking about.
