Proposed Additions and Changes[edit]

In the upcoming weeks, I plan on making some additions and changes to this article. To start, the summary is a little bit short and does not cover the contents of the story in enough depth so that will be expanded on. Additionally, I will add a genre section in which I will talk about the place of the novel in LGBTQ+ literature as well as in children's picture books. Finally, I will add a lot to the significantly lacking reception section which addresses nothing about the book being banned or any of the other controversies surrounding the book. With all of these changes, I will also make sure the lead section still encompasses the entire article well. All of these changes will make it a significantly better article and one closer to the ideal of Wikipedia articles about books. You might want to consider adding that it bears a resemblance to 'The Hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes which was a Newbery Honor book in 1945. It could be regarded as a social modernization with a transgender protagonist replacing the poor, immigrant protagonist. 96.234.151.147 (talk) 21:15, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
