Would it perhaps be a good idea to move the Swedish data to a separate page with the usual caveat at the top saying "go to the Swedish page for 118 118 (Sweden)" or whatever, or alternatively have 118 118 be a disambiguation page, pointing to a theoretical 118 118 (UK) page, and a 118 118 (Sweden)? (blows away cobwebs) Yes it would. I've done so. I've moved the UK page to its current position and made 118 118 a disambiguation, as I can't see that either company has a clear claim to be significantly more notable than the other.
The Swedish interwiki I moved to the Swedish page. I also removed an interwiki link to the French Wikipedia, as that article was apparently deleted - why, I don't know. [1] --Sam Blanning(talk) 15:27, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:118118logo.gif[edit]

Image:118118logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Animation?[edit]

The article mentions that in late 2009 the characters became animated. Is there any more information as to why this happened? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.104.158.1 (talk) 13:04, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ofcom regulations and 118 118 price adjustment[edit]

Following the introduction of new Ofcom regulations on July 1st 2015, 118 118 would like to update this Wikipedia page with some information on the Ofcom announcement and a 118 118 price adjustment to ensure that pricing is correct and transparent and customers are aware of the new regulations coming in to place. These updates will be factual only and will be updated tomorrow (July 1st 2015). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Emmamknight (talkcontribs) 20:55, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

HI, given the pricing changes that occurred yesterday as part of the new Ofcom regulatory regime for 118 numbers, please could the Pricing section be updated?

Many thanks Emmamknight (talk) 11:18, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

>New section >Subject/Headline: 118 118 Pricing Updates The 118 118 and network provider pricing in the below paragraph (under Information Services) is now out of date. This is following the introduction of new Ofcom regulations on 1st July 2015, making all call charges to 118 numbers more transparent, consisting of a Service Charge and Access Charge.

Could this be updated too?

Effective 1st July 2015 the 118 118 Service Charge will be £2.75 per call and £2.99/min (min 60s) + the network provider Access Charge. Calls to 118 118 from most landlines are charged at £4.45 for the first minute, plus £2.57 per subsequent minute. It means the cost of obtaining a simple phone number has increased by at least £4.05 since 192 was switched off. The Telecoms regulator originally expected competition to drive down price. Instead, it has presided over charges doubling, doubling again, doubling again and continuing to increase. Calls from different networks may vary (TalkTalk for example charge £5.68 for the 1st minute and £3.28 per minute thereafter). The 118 118 operator can connect the call directly, in which case it is charged at £2.57 per minute(£3.28 with TalkTalk).[3] Overall, excessive charges have forced mobile networks to pass on these costs to callers as well for callers to 118 118 although to assist callers most mobile networks offer their own 118 services costing around £1.
