Fair use rationale for Image:13poster.jpg[edit]

Image:13poster.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Listing of Amateur productions[edit]

Today I deleted several amateur productions, namely school and youth theatre groups. I did this on the basis of the guideline at WP:MT article structure "Only professional productions should be included in this section, following the conditions set in WP:NOTABILITY. Amateur productions will be deleted without discussion."

I understand that this musical is one that has been--and will be--done by many children's theatres and schools by its nature. I think it appropriate to leave certain of these amateur productions (maybe the first in a country) but to delete most based on the guidelines. Of course, common sense is a good guideline, too. Extra sentence noting Tinashe[edit]

I removing an extra sentence inserted in the Pre-Broadway section "The original cast included Tinashe.", she is already listed as a cast member "Tinashe Kachingwe" and I will wiki-link that mention to Tinashe. The added reference to, "TinasheNow.com Official Biography tinashenow.com" is self-sourced and is a link to performance video not a biography 009o9 (talk) 19:48, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Synopsis section contribution appears to be copy violation[edit]

Edit by User:Eric.yarham appears to be a WP:COPYVIO. I realize that sometime these are reverse of what they appear to be (websites sometimes copy from Wikipedia), but to be on the safe side I'm going to do a rollback, so the article doesn't suffer a speedy deletion.

It would be great for the article to have a Synopsis section, but we can't copy someone else's work. Let's discuss here 009o9 (talk) 15:49, 29 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Generally, you can use short quotes (a paragraph or two) as fair use, but we can't use extended passages. The best thing to do is to tell the story in your own words. I saw that you were still editing so I did not attempt the rollback, but I am worried the article will get on a speedy deletion list and be gone within moments.

When you paraphrase from articles, you should use Template: web cite so you can date your reference, give the author and publisher credit, and the date of the article. Regards 009o9 (talk) 16:20, 29 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Eric, I don't know if there is a manual of style of Stage Plays, but the MOS for film is here Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Film. Eric, I've modified your response above with a "colon" which insets your comment. Since I'm responding to you with this comment and not the overall topic, I've inset my response with two colons.
