Education and gender[edit]

@TheUzbek Are the 'education' and 'gender' columns really necessary on this page? I also wonder why the gender column has 'female' coloured red? Sam Walton (talk) 09:50, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Samwalton9: Gender is always important, especially when to Western readers it's unclear who is male or female. Additionally, the vast majority of the CC are male... Education is important considering its showcases who these people are, what background they have and the composition of the leadership. --TheUzbek (talk) 10:30, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@TheUzbek Do any of the sources make note of gender? It doesn't look like it to me but this might be a Google Translate issue. I'm still mostly concerned about why 'female' is colored red - what's the purpose of that? Sam Walton (talk) 10:32, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Samwalton9: Yes they do. The sources state explicitly how many members are female and also state their education. All these stats are usually announced at the National Congress immediately after election - its a communist norm (every country does it with the exception of maybe WPK). In addition most of the Asian communist ruling parties (Vietnam, Laos and China) has sought to increase the number of female members in their parties (the female share is growing at a faster rate than the male membership rate).
It's pink to better differentiate the columns. The same goes for the Soviet central committee lists and the Cuban central committee lists. So why not here? --TheUzbek (talk) 10:40, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
