[1] refers to a match in 1775: "The earliest initial record found is of a fixture between New Alresford and Bishops Waltham at Stephens Castle Green held on the 28th August, 1775. Narrative[edit]

One may have no doubt that the information in this article, and others like it, is accurate and can be sourced to the references started but it is essentially a statistical summary. Surely the article should present the reader with a narrative description of the season? One would hope for revision at some point. Though presumably compliant when written several years ago it now seems anachronistic, which is a shame. --Jim Hardie (talk) 19:38, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
