False advertising

I have removed the following sentence: It is also notable in that it came a full-two years before a codified rugby game would be played in England, yet 10 years after the first Victorian (later Australian) Rules Football game. This is because Rugby's rules were first written down in 1845 (and played even before that). Similarly Sheffield Rules Football and Soccer were all written down and played well before 1869 in England. Duplication

Even to my non-American eye it is clear that this and 1869 college soccer season clearly refer to the exact same thing - why are there two separate articles? -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 20:26, 19 March 2020 (UTC)
