Is this regiment still active?[edit]

The infobox on the article implies that this unit is still active. Likewise the introduction and text do not elaborate on what happened to this unit aft WWII. I assume that it was either transferred to the Indian Army on Independence or disbanded. Can anyone confirm? This needs to be added to the article in order for it to adequately cover the topic. AustralianRupert (talk) 13:44, 23 March 2009 (UTC) 18 Cavalry, in its current day is an active operational unit of the Indian Army - Armoured Corps. The colours in use are as given out in the article and I, Colonel Sheraz Varma have had the privilege of being one of the Commanding Officers of 18 Cavalry during my tenure in the active Army. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.160.2.43 (talk) 08:43, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
