Displaying a Coalition result[edit]

Since the Coalition wasn't formed until the aftermath of the election, is it wise to show it in the results table? Timrollpickering 13:25, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Almost 4 years since this comment, but I agree. They didn't go to the election as a coalition, so the infobox shouldn't show them as one. Anoldtreeok (talk) 06:01, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not taking a stand either way on this, but interesting parallels to the Queensland state election, 2012... :) Timeshift (talk) 06:30, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, that is interesting. I wonder what will happen in the end. Anoldtreeok (talk) 13:27, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Someone needs to fix the box so that it would say the following: Prime Minister before election

Billy Hughes Nationalist

Resulting Prime Minister

Stanley Melbourne Bruce Nationalist/Country coalition

Timeshift reverting the box back the way it was, makes it misleading as Hughes did not lead a coalition with the Country Party at the 1922 election and this election saw him being replaced by Stanley Melbourne Bruce.

I suggest one looks at the 1948 Irish election article which states the consequent Prime Minister was John A Costello even though he was not leader of any party prior to that election. It is basically the same thing that happened with Bruce at the 1922 Australian federal election. 58.109.94.172 (talk) 10:13, 28 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I agree altering the infobox to remove the coalition, as was not formed till after the election. However I am against altering the resulting Prime Minister to Stanley Bruce, as Hughes was the resulting Prime Minister, Bruce didn't become Prime Minister till almost 3 months after the election. The Tepes (talk) 05:14, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I actually now have to agree with 58.109.94.172 (talk), Stanley Melbourne Bruce is the resulting Prime Minister of this election, even though it was almost 3 months after the election date. The Tepes (talk) 11:27, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
