The article was a bit badly phrased in sections. I tried to reword a few bits of it so they were a bit less awkward. 72.250.182.68 (talk) 04:15, 21 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Relationship of the two Bruces?[edit]

This article has Geoffrey being Charles' cousin, while the article on Charles himself has Geoffrey being his nephew. Which is correct? CFLeon (talk) 18:26, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cousin.[1] Thincat (talk) 19:02, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've corrected the article Charles Granville Bruce which had had "cousin" changed to "nephew" back in 2012 by an IP's only edit.[2] Geoffrey Bruce was 30 years younger, a bit of a large age difference for cousins. My WP:OR strongly suggests the two men's fathers (Henry Austin Bruce son of John Bruce formerly John Knight; and Gerald Trevor Knight-Bruce son of Lewis Knight-Bruce) were not brothers so maybe "cousin" does not imply first cousin.
