"Protectorate of Cochinchina"[edit]

French Cochinchina was a colony and not a protectorate, while in practise the protectorates were treated as colonies, legally speaking colonies were subject to direct control while protectorates were indirectly ruled. This article names French Cochinchina as "a protectorate" several times so this should probably be corrected. --Donald Trung (talk) 16:48, 12 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Why they said it is civil war[edit]

this is not civil war ,if they said first indochina war is civil war , so america independent war is a civil war.This is the war between viet minh(nationalist and communist althought many people is just nationalist) and france 14.244.118.237 (talk) 05:31, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
