Season Summary?[edit]

The statement "Vanwall's withdrawal, believed to have been a result of the high mortality rate of the 1958 season" should have a citation. It is speculative and not fully supported by other sources. For example, in his book "Vanwall Green for Glory", Ed McDonough states that Vandervell's health was a significant factor.

The first sentence of the "Season Summary" section refers to the 1958 season, but appears to ignore its results. It states that Ferrari was "the only race-winning team in the Championship", but two of the 1958 races were won by Coopers entered by the R. R. C. Walker Racing Team which continued to compete (and win races) in 1959. This is just sloppy and, along with poor writing in later sections, justifies the "Start-Class" rating.
