This article is written in South African English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, realise, analyse) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.

electorate[edit]

The article ought to mention that the Black majority population wasn't allowed to vote. --Soman (talk) 17:45, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not strictly correct. Southern Rhodesia never stopped anybody from voting because of his colour; the small number of black voters was because of qualifications on the voters' roll, which applied to everybody whether he was black, white, green or purple. Most blacks did not reach these, and many who did boycotted, so the black share of the electorate was proportionally very small.
