Notability[edit]

Why is this notable? Also, you are relying on essentially one source, a primary source for this article. This seems to not meet the WP:GNG. --Admrboltz (talk) 20:08, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article, I believe, meets the WP:GNG and WP:AIRCRASH. NTSB reports source essentially all articles on aircraft accidents within the United States. Therefore, I have removed the tags. wackywace 21:05, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Per WP:AIRCRASH#Aircraft articles, the article is not regarding an airliner, and is over 12,500 lbs Gross, so it has to pass all three of the bullet points in the bottom section. The crash passes the first two, but the crash did not "...[result] in changes to procedures, regulations or issuance of an Airworthiness Directives (or the equivalent to an AD in the case of non-certified aircraft)." The NTSB made suggestions, and the FAA put out suggestions, but they did not change regulations or add a AD to the Lear 24. --Admrboltz (talk) 21:12, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have passed the article as GA in accordance with WP:WIAGA. To forestall any possible issues, the GA criteria (and process) do not consider the notability of the subject, which is a separate matter. I would point out that WP:AIRCRASH is an essay, which does not have to be followed, although generally it will be. As such, there may be occasions when an article does not need to meet all the criteria mentioned. Mjroots (talk) 15:38, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Accident

Merge to airport[edit]

I think this may be merged to the airport in lieu of deletion, since crashes are something that should be documented in airport articles, as significant events in the history of an airport. 65.95.14.96 (talk) 06:48, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • There's no reason the incident shouldn't be mentioned in the airport article, and that can be easily added in an Accidents section. However, this article is far to large for a straight merge. If this article is deleted by an AFD, then obviously some relevent information would be moved to the airport article, but probably no more that should already be there now. - BilCat (talk) 06:58, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose merge. I believe that notability has been established and the merge would unbalance the airport article. Therefore, the two should stay separate. Mjroots (talk) 20:25, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
