Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because a significant portion of the West Coast went on strike effectively stopping industry at several important shipbuilding docks that historically did work for the Military all the way back to WWI. 10,000 metal-workers went on strike for months and it was a turning point for Todd Shipyards Corporation.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Og riff dub (talk • contribs) 22:24, June 1, 2015‎

Please clarify this passage[edit]

The first paragraph in the section "Union talks" reads:

"Throughout 1982, with the older contracts coming to a close, a series of talks took place among Steel industry representatives, ..."

What, I have to wonder, do discussions among steel industry reps have to do with a labor dispute between a shipyard and and the shipyard workers' union? Can anyone explain this sentence, and what it has to do with the article? Thanks. Plazak (talk) 03:29, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
