Medal table[edit]

@Jeff in CA:, How come you claim the official website is wrong ? I checked all results one by one and created this list List of 2001 World Games medal winners and that matches the official website medal table. Do you have source for your medal table which looks very wrong to me ? by official website I don't mean the IWGA website that has so many mistakes. I mean the archived website of 2001 organizing committee. beside that looks like you have a hobby of just reverting edits without even checking. Mohsen1248 (talk) 10:55, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

For example you have no gold medal for New Zealand in your version, now check this, there is even a short comment from the gold medal winner. Mohsen1248 (talk) 11:13, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Mohsen1248: I apologize for jumping to the conclusion that your edits were based on the incorrect so-called “official” IWGA list of medalists, which a few previous editors had tried in good faith to use.
With your research you have made a significant contribution to the accuracy of this article. It is great that you discovered results of three events that had been left out of another source. I myself had discovered two such events for the 1981 results.
These three events are missing from the source of the previous 2001 medal totals:
  • Karate – men’s kumite openweight
  • Lifesaving, team overall, men
  • Lifesaving, team overall, women
In addition, the other source lists silver medalist Kellie Shimmings as representing Austria in women’s 60kg karate kumite, rather than Australia.
The other source apparently has the wrong medal winners for two of the long-distance men’s inline speed skating events; instead, it lists several of the medal winners from the sprint races as having also won medals in the 20km and 15km elimination races. With regard to the New Zealand gold medal, it lists Hsuan Lo of Chinese Taipei as the winner instead of Kalon Dobbin.
In two events, women’s doubles petanque boules and men’s overall waterskiing, the other source shows the gold and silver medalists in the opposite order of the those in the list at List of 2001 World Games medal winners.
If you don’t mind, would you please list here the archive links for the information on the seven additional events mentioned above, as you did for the 20km elimination race? I would appreciate it. Jeff in CA (talk) 08:05, 4 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Jeff in CA:, Yeah sure. I found so many mistakes in IWGA list as well. I always double checked all medalists names with IWGA but apprently mistakes happen when someone re-write the results not carefully. unfortunately archived websites are not available for events before 2001. here is the missing events
Karate Openweight
Karate Women's 60kg
Lifesaving overall (men and women)
Women's Petanque
Men's Waterski also this link
