On the Daytona 500[edit]

We really didn't need to list Jeff Burton in the story about the Daytons 500 winning the pole. That was made on the Gatordae Duel story, so let's leave it at that. NoseNuggets 6:45 PM US EST Feb 19 2006.

Driver/Team Table[edit]

OK, the driver team table doesn't really belong there. BUT, it is very good looking. Therefore, I propose that it be moved to List of NASCAR teams. --D-Day Somebody talk to me. Please somebody! Anybody! 12:35, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Points?[edit]

I'm just seeing this article for the first time. Nice work. Any opinions on whether the point standings should be on this page? Say, the top 10 at least? SubSeven 07:53, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

2007 Information[edit]

Since we're almost halfway through the 2006 season, and Silly Season is in high gear, I've created the 2007 in NASCAR page, using this page as a template. Please post all information for the 2007 season there. DiegoTehMexican 19:20, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Food City 500[edit]

I'd like to know why the recap of the Food City 500 was reverted. --Bveale 19:38, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The recap you refer to appeared to be full of lots of POV stuff, "one of the most exciting stops on the Nextel Cup schedule" for example, and excessive detail (when compared to the other races). I'm pretty sure that is why those additions were reverted. You'd have to ask the person who did the reversion for specifics. -- Scjessey 20:24, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The first part was POV. I forgot to check the rest of it. I'll fix it for you. My apologies. --D-Day I'm all ears How can I improve? 20:19, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I switched the last two comments around - ran into an edit conflict issue, and I am slow! -- Scjessey 20:24, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think the new revision still has too much detail. Driver-specific information (Gordon's fine, for example) should be limited to driver pages. -- Scjessey 20:28, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the explanation. On a second read, there were a few POV questions, but I was more taken aback by how two or three other paragraphs had disappeared. Part of the "excessive detail problem" was that the average race at Bristol tends to have more events of this nature, than, say, Las Vegas. I felt that the points leader falling out of contention, several multi-car accidents, a red flag and multiple passes in the last 10 laps were all worthy of inclusion in a recap of the race.
As for Gordon's fine, a look at several of the race recaps (AP, various newspapers), the "fight" was one of, if not the major story that came out of the race. Regardless, there's a redundancy in the article as it stands now. I think it's better placed in the body than with the guys who didn't qualify. Thanks for your patience, however. --Bveale 03:10, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Logo.svg[edit]

Image:NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Logo.svg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
