Coaching changes[edit]

Shouldn't the 2006 NFL season#Coaching Changes section go on the 2007 NFL season article? It is technically the offseason for those teams. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 15:29, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. 2006 is finished for those teams. BuffaloChip97 21:44, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Foreign coverage[edit]

Just wondering whether anyone has any info on how NFL games will be covered in other countries? This is definitely relevant for those wiki readers outside the united states. Sojourner001 10:43, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's a relevant topic for the article to cover in order to fulfil wikipedia guidelines on worldwide views. NFL fans from other parts of the world may want to know whether it's possible to watch games on TV in their country. I've restored this comment because it's quite obviously a valid point in order to improve the article.
"Quite obviously a valid point in order to improve the article?" You're asking if you can watch games outside of the US. How does this improve the article? This is for your own personal gain, not the article's. Take it to some messageboard. Pats1 03:29, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am asking someone more knowledgeable than I to dig up some information that is relevant and add it to the article. I would like to know but wouldn't know where to look, but my curiosity is representative of the user base of wikipedia.

Death of two Broncos[edit]

This section is in the 2006 NFL season article, but should it not be here? Arguably Darrent Williams' death, only hours into the Broncos' offseason began, could be attached to the 2006 article, but Damien Nash died February 24; weeks after the conclusion of the NFL season. I'm also looking at the head coach firings that took place hours after a team's season was completed and they appear in the 2007 article. Seeing as these tragic events have an impact on the upcoming season, rather than the 2006 season, I am proposing moving the section here. Thoughts?—Twigboy 01:05, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the NFL league new year is actually in March. I'd leave it as it is, as the Nash death falls within the 2006 league year. As far as coaching changes go, they actually occur in the 2006 league year, but don't take true effect until the 2007 league year, so I'd leave them as is. Pats1 01:11, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Second International game[edit]

Although it is said that there will be 2 international game every season ther eis only mention to London game. The China Bowl would be a Pre-season. Is there any source if they are really going to do 2 games this season, and where? Samuel Sol 11:02, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The China Bowl isn't until 2009. It was postponed. Pats1 21:24, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So the China Bowl is still considered as one of the international? Ah, ok. But it isn't supposed to be 2 Regular seasons? The China would be pre-seasonSamuel Sol 10:11, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, it's up to two regular season games. Could be two, could be one. (Guess it could be zero.)—Twigboy 16:41, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bills Player Crippled[edit]

I'm not up to date on what happened, but apparently a Bills player had his neck broken and there's good reason to believe he'll end up quadra- or parapalegic. Would somebody with better knowledge than I add that in? 151.203.202.43 18:51, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • it was Kevin Everett, they thought he would be crippled, but he made miracoulous recovery and can now walk. —Preceding unsigned comment added by LukeTheSpook (talkcontribs) 06:59, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

London Game, kickoff Time[edit]

I've corrected the kickoff time from 17:00 UTC to 17:00 BST, but think the US time is also wrong, but don't know for sure. I think it should be 12:00 EDT. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 163.166.8.12 (talk) 13:30, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The kickoff is 17:00 UTC. BST conveniently goes out of effect on that day. The kickoff is 13:00 EDT (which happens to be the time a normal American football game starts). NASCAR Fan24(talkcontribs) 21:45, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The page for the 2007 NFL Playoffs has been created. Just to alert you about this. NoseNuggets (talk) 8:00 PM US EST Nov 18 2007.

NFL Playoffs, 2007-08 has been merged and redirected to NFL playoffs, 2007-08, which is older (created on September 9) and consistent with the spelling and capitalization with the other playoff articles. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 02:56, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Playoff scenarios section[edit]

Doesn't this section need a citation? Samer 15:37, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What's the problem???[edit]

Removed helpme template please ask a question? Gnangarra 02:18, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind... Sorry, but I was gonna ask you for help because there was a very huge picture of a vagina covering the page!!! I scrolled down but the picture scrolled with me!!! I like girls but I also like to be able to see the article!!! Who did that??? WIKIVUE Detroit (talk) SAT NOV 15 2007 9:52 PM EST

Please delink 2008 NFL Season from List of NFL seasons[edit]

Can we please delink the 2008 NFL season from List of NFL seasons, please? I'm trying to start a new article there with the usual lead in, plus the intraconference and interconference rotations, and will be listed as a stub. Inn addition, I will be listing the coaching changes as they happen. NoseNuggets (talk) 7:25 AM US EDT Dec 24 2007 (Christmas Eve)

Done. I believe there is enough content to start the article now, including a paragraph about the new logo. Cheers. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 16:07, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Record goof[edit]

On the table with the current standings, three different winning percentages are given for the 4-11 teams. --- Dralwik|Have a Chat My Great Project 03:18, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. Thanks - Keeper | 76 18:02, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Death of Sean Taylor[edit]

Has there been a conviction in this case? I don't think the alleged assailants' names should be in the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.231.88.5 (talk) 15:42, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No predetermination[edit]

Article reads: “In 2006, the league did not reveal its predetermined Sunday night game; the reason given by the league was to avoid embarrassing the teams switched out for a more compelling game.” This is wrong. Here’s how the Boston Globe reported it on April 6 2006:

“ For Weeks 10-15 and Week 17, the final regular-season weekend, all Sunday games will be listed with start times of 1 p.m. or 4:05-4:15 p.m. The league must then announce which game will be played Sunday night at least 12 days before the date of the game. The lone exception is the season finale Dec. 31, when the switch must be made no later than six days before the game.”

And indeed, Wikipedia’s page on the 2006 season says that all games were “tentatively” scheduled for either 1pm or 4pm. It says nothing about a “secret” 8pm scheduled game. Further, it lists all 7 of the Sunday night games starting with week 10 as having been flexed in, meaning that all 7 of the “predetermined” Sunday night games were deemed to be unacceptable and were flexed out. This is highly unlikely.

What I believe is going on is simply sloppy writing on Wikipedia’s part. By “did not reveal its predetermined Sunday night game” you actually mean “did not schedule a specific Sunday night game.” In other words, the league did not reveal its predetermined Sunday night game simply because there was no predetermined Sunday night game to be revealed. The way it is written says that there was one. 96.237.184.133 (talk) 14:58, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
