Schedule[edit]

The updated schedule format is a big improvement from 2006. Looks like it will be much easier to manage. We could also use easier to use templates for the stats. I am really looking forward to next season! Dincher 23:48, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As am I! The schedule template was developed as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject College football, where we are working on centralizing and standardizing our efforts to cover college football on Wikipedia. I didn't see your name on the list of participants so if you're interested, head on over there and check it out! Establishing some sort of standard template for various stat tables would be a great next step, I agree. -- PSUMark2006 talk | contribs 23:54, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Line scores[edit]

Why are you using the school nicknames rather than the school names in the linescore boxes, ala previous years? I think it looks better to use the school names in the linescore boxes, and the nicknames in the capsule description. -- Billma 12:41, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I just realized that's how all the other season articles have done it as well. Thanks for the heads up. -- PSUMark2006 talk | contribs 15:09, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, I just didn't want to change it if there was some reasoning behind it. Thx :) -- Billma 19:45, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recruiting[edit]

I moved the recruiting section under preseason, it seemed to make more sense there, although I don't like how it's now above the schedule. But given that the schedule and the game capsules will be together, that would have put the recruiting section after the game capsules if I didn't move it. Any thoughts? - Billma 13:21, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for finishing up the rest of those recruits... trying to keep the Scout/Rivals/ESPN sites straight was starting to make my head spin! I think that for now putting the recruiting section in preseason is appropriate, primarily because we have nothing else besides the upcoming schedule in the article. Once the season gets underway, though, the focus of the article will be on game recaps and whatnot, at which point we'll probably want to move it further down the article. PSUMark2006 talk | contribs 15:24, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The only thing about moving it back below is that the article structure is almost in semi-chronological order: previous season, preseason, schedule, game recaps, postseason. But having recruiting after the game recaps breaks that up, almost like recruiting happens after the games. Dunno... -- Billma 15:48, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I know what you mean... There was some discussion about placement over at WP:CFB but I don't believe there was any sort of consensus reached yet. I could go either way with it - it just seems like the recruiting table is so large (and necessarily so) that it would detract from the main focus of the article, which should be (in my opinion) the actual season itself, once that season starts. But, I'm game for leaving it chronologically as well. PSUMark2006 talk | contribs 15:53, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Preseason awards[edit]

I think quite a few of the players have second team All-American when they should have second team All-Big Ten. Dan 18:36, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct.. I have fixed it. - Billma 20:45, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Policy Discussion on use of logos[edit]

There is a policy discussion that could affect this article. Please see this discussion about whether policy should forbid team logos to be placed on articles pertaining to individual seasons. You are invited to contribute to the discussion, if you wish. Best, Johntex\talk 19:25, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! I just wanted to let you guys know that I started out the 2007 Alamo Bowl article. I have written the lead and the "leading into the game" section, which covers some of the history of the two teams. Feel free to expand and/or cleanup the article. Thanks!
