Untitled[edit]

Let's use the Michigan-App. State game as a sort of template for this one. I feel like their format fits very well for our purposes.

Feel free to adopt/copy info already included in the 2007 USC page[edit]

I wrote up the game with some depth in the 2007 USC season article, see the section on the Stanford game as well as the pre-season section which covers Harbaugh's earlier comments in depth. Borrow/use/adapt the information there (as well as the sources), as right now this article is bad shape. --Bobak 16:48, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Should the name be Southern California vs. Stanford (or USC vs. Stanford for that matter), as USC was the home team? Group29 (talk) 21:48, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • No, the name should be Stanford-USC for that very reason. In american sports, the visiting team is almost always listed first. Frank Anchor Talk to me 02:07, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good start as of 2007-11-04. Needs expansion and more references. I suggest you visit the Category:College football games for more examples of specific game articles you can draw from. Johntex\talk 07:55, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious Claim[edit]

What's up with this sentence: "The biggest upset in college football still being the 2007 FCS division Appalachian State upset of the #5 ranked Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor, MI.[citation needed]."

First, it's not even a grammatically complete sentence. Second, it's unsupported, and there is no basis for comparison. No point spread was offered for the Appalachian State vs. Michigan game, so it cannot be compared to the 41 point spread here, or the 45 point spread in the Howard-UNLV game. Recommend deleting unless a citation can be offered.
